Produced by the ANDERSONVILLE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, Midsommarfest gathers enthusiastic Chicagoans along Clark Street between Foster and Catalpa for two days and three nights of music, dancing, kids’ entertainment, and delicious food. Vendors from around the region sell their wares to passersby, local shops and restaurants welcome the warm season with specials and sales, and dance troupes, DJs, and longtime favorite bands keep the party going.
Borne out of Andersonville’s Swedish heritage, Midsommarfest will transport you back to the old-world Swedish traditions. Dance around the Maypole, test flavorful international food, make your own floral crown, and don the ever-popular viking hat! Plus, KIDS + FAMILY ACTIVITIES will allow for children of all ages to enjoy a beautiful June weekend!
This year, the fest kicks off on Friday, June 8 from 5-10PM with an expanded footprint between Summerdale and Catalpa along Clark Street featuring two stages: North Stage (Catalpa & Clark) and Balmoral Pride Stage (West Balmoral). Guests can even check out our new VIP SECTION at the North Stage for an elevated viewing experience. Patrons can also experience a more casual Midsommarfest at the open streets-styled Block Party on Friday night between Summerdale and Balmoral on Clark, hosted in partnership with local businesses and neighborhood groups. The second annual CHICAGO EQUALITY RALLY will take place at the Balmoral Pride Stage on Sunday, June 10 at 12PM. The Rally aims to unify people with a mission to make change towards equal treatment, protection, and access for all people, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, or immigrant status.
ACC also encourages visitors to shop local during the days of the festival, offering a free beer ticket* to anyone who presents a shopping receipt (purchase date from June 8-10, 2018) of $30 or more from a local/independent brick and mortar retail or service location in Andersonville.
*Offer is valid for one free beer ticket per person, and receipts can be presented for ticket redemption at the ACC booth located between Summerdale and Balmoral on Friday night (June 8), and at the intersection of Clark and Berwyn on Saturday and Sunday (June 9 & 10).
We ask a $10 donation at the gates (kids under 12 and seniors are free) that supports all of the innovative programming, events, and services that keep our community vibrant. A portion of the
gate donations will also benefit Senn High School and a percentage of beer sales from the weekend will benefit over ten non-profit organizations. View our NON PROFIT BENEFICIARIES.
