Determined to make his mark like those before him, Pharus is hell-bent on being the best choir leader in his prep-school’s 50 year history. Laced with soaring gospel music, this coming-of-age drama is a Chicago premiere, and an exciting commencement of Raven Theatre’s 35th anniversary season.

A world premiere adaptation of Atwood’s acclaimed novel, Alias Grace takes a look at one of Canada’s most notorious murderers. In 1843, 16-year-old Grace Marks was accused of brutally murdering her employer and his housekeeper. Imprisoned for years, Grace still swears she has no memory of the killings. A doctor in the emerging field of mental health arrives to try to find out the truth of the matter. Alias Grace is a fascinating study of memory, culpability, and the shadowy spaces within the human mind.

In an unsteady landscape of power and control, this geo-political thriller by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Ayad Akhtar asks just how free is the free market?

6:30-7:30PM: City Olive | Cookbook author and producer Anupy Singla of Indian as Apple Pie shows guests cooking healthy is simple and that cooking Indian is just a matter of understanding a few key spices! 7PM: TrueNorth Café | The Art of Coffee – Coffee delights all the senses: taste, smell, touch, sound, and sight. This workshop will give participants even more ways to appreciate this amazing drink. The TrueNorth team  will cover the essential steps to extract an espresso, how to texture milk and make great latte art, and review different coffee varieties and ways to make a great cup of pour over in a v60, Aeropress, and Chemex
